The plot: Dr Alex Delaware,
a respected Los Angeles child psychologist, looks upon
Melissa Dickinson as one of his greatest success stories.
At seven, she bravely asked him for help to conquer her
fears, and two years later, pronounced herself cured and
ready to move on with her life. Suddenly, after 9 years,
she calls Dr Delaware about some changes going on in her
family life which disturb her. Although Delaware no longer
really counsels children, he gamely visits Melissa. Once
there, he is sucked into the maelstrom of devastating
change overtaking Melissa - and then himself...
Comment: Although not
a bad book at all, it all rather plods along in a never-ending
kind of way which can make it difficult at time to get
through. But, this is still a well thought out little
mystery thriller and I had absolutely no idea what the
ending was going to be until it happened. If you have
time to kill, and feel like curling up with a nice little
crime thriller which has you pretty clueless throughout,
then give this book a go.
