I have placed "sizzler
ratings" next to books read, even if the review
hasn't been added at this time.

THE
VENTURE (1997) |
Sub-category:
Rags to Riches success story
The plot: After spending
10 years building a department from slide-projector setter-upperer
to successful corporate video production, Michael DiGabriel
suddenly finds himself unemployed alongside all his staff
as his company merges everything. To complicate matters, Three-E,
the largest client in the area, is laying off everyone as
well. DiGabriel spontaneously finds himself setting up a video
production company with his laid off comrades. However with
no business plan and no money, this isn't going to be an easy
success story.
Comment: The first half of
the book reads like a seminar for someone telling you how
to set up a small business with a flimsy fictional plot line
thrown in much the same way a seminar would use a fictional
company to get the point across. However, towards the end,
the book, the pace picks up even if it is predictable.
