REVELATION
(2000) |
Sub-category: Past/present/science
The plot: British Arctic
Explorer and scientist, Dr Fred Findhorn is commissioned
to go tot he arctic circle and land on an iceberg about
to go 'turtle' and recover some secret diaries for a Norwegian
Oil company. However, when he gets there, the American's
are also there and deception abounds. When he makes it
back to Scotland, he is offered several million dollars
to turn the diaries over to other parties. By now, Findhorn
is deeply suspicious and 'disappears' in an attempt to
work out what the secret of the diaries is...
Comment: I have vague
fuzzy memories of being a bit nonplused by Napier's first
book, but by golly as he upped the ante in Revelation!
From the opening pages, this book is a thriller that transports
the reader between the time the nuclear bomb was being
developed to the present day greed of people seeking to
truly dominate and rule the world. And trapped between
the deaths and money, is Dr Findhorn, a concerned individual
who just wants to make sure the diaries don't fall into
the wrong hands and thus deliver a fatal cataclysm for
the human race. This book was a brilliant, fast paced
thriller from start to finish, and could be enjoyed by
anyone who likes action thrillers, irrespective of whether
or not they like science fiction.
