The plot:
Jan Schlichtmann, a personal-injury lawyer, and his small
3-man lawyer company, pursue justice for a small New England
town where several children have died of leukemia. However,
he doesn't take the case on for noble reasons - he takes it
because he thinks he can get a lot of money out of a local
tannery owned by Beatrice Foods and W.R. Grace which has been
dumping carcinogens into the water supply. The film is based
on a true story.
Comment:
This film has a great feel about it as unlike a fictional
story or a Hollywood-designed story, the reality is that the
law system does not always deliver the justice we believe
in. Acting by the entire cast is strong and well lead by John
Travolta as the black coat-clad, selfish lawyer.
